American rapper Warren G's debut album, Regulate... G Funk Era, released in June 1994. The album's biggest hit was the self-titled single Regulate, a gritty tale of street life on the West Coast, which samples singer Michael McDonald's track I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near). The single, featuring Nate Dogg, was nominated for the 1995 Grammy Awards for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.
